Welcome to the Monticello Camera Club Official Website
We are a member club of the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs (4c’s). Our members enjoy all aspects of photography. From film to digital, prints,or electronically displayed. From nature photography to the more abstract. Here you will find an opportunity to improve on your photography skills, and show and compare your work against others, not only within our local club, but with other photographers all around the Pacific Northwest. We have members from all age groups, and all walks of life and more importantly of all levels of skill. We encourage beginner level photographers as much as we do the more advanced. We love to share our knowledge as much as we love to learn from others. We encourage you to sit in on one of our meetings and see what our club has to offer.
We hold regular club meetings September through May. During the summer we have our board meetings and program nights so check back regularly for schedules.
Where and when do we meet?
You should always check our schedule for changes…as we do occasionally meet at other locations, but generally we meet on Tuesdays in dining room of the Somerset Retirement Apartments from 7pm until 9pm. The address is 2025 tibbets Dr. Longview, WA 98632.Public is welcome to attend and enrollment is open.
Our club is actively involved in community activities. Every year we host the photography department at the Cowlitz County Fair, and we also co-host the annual photography show at the McClelland Art Center with the Longview Parks and Rec dept. Our club is often called on when photographers are needed for a variety of events.
1st Tuesday – Print Night
On the first Tuesday of each month September through May we have Print Night. On Print Night members bring in prints to be judged, the winners advance to compete at the 4C’s level. Immediately following judging, if time allows, results will be announced, and we will then conduct a critique of images and judging.
2nd Tuesday – Board Meeting
In an effort to clear up more space during our Print and EID meetings for educational purposes, we will conduct the majority of club business on the second Tuesday of each month. Only in case of dire need will voting or club business be held outside of these meetings.
3rd Tuesday – EID (Digital) Night
On the third Tuesday of each month, September through May, we have EID (Digital) Competitions. Members submit digital images to be judged. Each month we have a category of images that we enter as well as traditional class and creative class. In the EID which stands for Electronic Image Division, we even have a Creative class for those of you who like to “think outside the box” As in the print competitions, the winners advance to compete at the 4C’s level.
4th Tuesday- Program Night
The fourth Tuesday of each month will be reserved for various programs. They may be Photoshop Classes, or Guest Speakers, or Workshops or planning sessions, they may even be outings… Check the Events Calendar for details!
You are welcome to visit any or all of our meetings without obligation. If you wish to join our club, our annual dues are only $25 per year per family. As a member there is no minimum attendance, you can come to whichever meetings you like. Each member has ability to enter photos into competition and judge competitions. When you check us out…we’re sure that you will want to join!
We are a member of The Columbia Council of Camera Clubs (4Cs).
The 4C's exists in the Pacific Northwest to promote photography knowledge and enjoy fellowship between member clubs and organizations. This is accomplished through teaching, competition and the study of contemporary and classic works of photographers and like organizations. Photo clubs belong to the 4Cs.
Individuals belonging to photo clubs that belong to the 4Cs, are therefore also members of 4Cs.
We are a member of the Photographic Society of America . The Photographic Society of America (PSA) is a worldwide organization for anyone interested in photography. The society includes casual shutterbugs, serious amateurs, and professional photographers.
Founded in 1934, PSA has members in over 70 countries. Individual, Club, and Council memberships offer a wide variety of services and activities: a monthly magazine; online photo galleries, image evaluation, study groups, and courses; competitions; an annual conference; recognition; and discounts on photography related products and services.
